Making a submission

Before making your submission

Please read the section in the overview headed ‘What are Land Transport Rules?’

Please write clearly or, preferably, send typed comments

If possible, please send your submission by email to info@nzta.govt.nz and, if you wish, follow this up with a signed copy. If emailing your comments, please let us know your postal address.

You can also submit your comments online at: www.landtransport.govt.nz/consultation/steering-systems-amendment.

Please include the following information in your submission:

  • the title of the Rule
  • your name, and title if applicable
  • your organisation's name if applicable
  • your address – postal, and email if applicable

Please use the format provided for making your submission

If you are not making your submission using the website form, it would be helpful if you could follow the format on the next page. This will speed up the process of considering the comments received on the draft amendment Rule.

Format of submissions

We welcome your comments on proposed changes to Land Transport Rule: Steering Systems 2001, as discussed in the overview to the draft Land Transport Rule: Steering Systems Amendment [2009]. We have also provided a space for you to make any general comments about the overview or the draft Rule.

Please note that you don't have to comment on all the proposed changes or sections of the Rule.

Overview

Changes proposed by the amendment Rule:

  • Light vehicles less than 20 years old
  • Light vehicles 20 years old or more
  • Specialist left-hand drive vehicles
  • Vehicles operated by diplomats
  • Previously exempted vehicles
  • Vehicles exempted from registration and licensing
  • Former Crown vehicles
  • Motorcycles with side cars
