Failure to give way at intersections is the fourth largest cause of death and injuries on New Zealand roads. This campaign aims to link people's risk taking behaviour at intersections with the potential serious consequences of their actions.
Each year over 2000 crashes occur at intersections because someone failed to give way.
The calculated risks that drivers take at intersections seem relatively inconsequential, e.g. nipping into small gaps. Many drivers have experienced close calls or near misses when driving through an intersection but feel they always get away with it. Other drivers haven't been so lucky.
Our current advertisements on intersections are available for viewing.
